I have been using 1and1 as a host for several years now.  They are
cheap, reliable, and I have never had a problem with them.

 

For a good CMS, I have been using Joomla <joomla.org> (by recommendation
from someone in this group) and have loved it!  The only downside to an
application like Joomla is that it can be overwhelming if you are
looking for a simpler solution - it is very robust.

 

For simple, I like Microsoft's Office Live <officelive.com>.  For a
simple and elegant solution, this one fits the bill.  Easy to manage,
but at the cost of fewer capabilities.

I am helping with a church plant and am looking for an affordable and
easy to use solution for a simple, static (for now) website.  I am not a
web developer and thought that I would utilize iWeb for the design but
would like to have a unique web address rather than just utilizing a
.Mac (now MobileMe) account for hosting.  Does anyone have any
experience with this?  I have already purchased a domain (both .com and
.org) and need to find a hosting company that I am able to upload pages
from iWeb with.

 

Also, if this just doesn't work well and you know a better solution, I
am open to other suggestions and have access to both mac and windows
platforms.  I just have a bit of experience with iWeb so am leaning this
way if I can make it work.
