there won’t be folders under the default user… because the application isn’t installed under the default user profile… so you will have to make the directories in that profile…
But this might be a better option….From my awesome network admin Jeremie:
install them globally if he just wants all users to have the same and not worry about their profiles…this link should help with that.
http://kb.mozillazine.org/Installing_extensions#Global_installation
As far as the profile where the plugins are it should be in the vicinity of “C:\Documents and Settings\<Windows login/user name>\Application Data\Mozilla\Plugins\”
I know in vista its in “C:\Users\<Windows login/user name>\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\<Profile String>\extensions\”

Jason,
Under the Default User, there is no Mozilla folder to which to paste the profile…thoughts? Should I just create one?

Install the extensions under fresh user account… then copy that user profile to the default profile. Delete all user profiles (note this will delete all local settings) and have the users login to the TS. Their new local profile will include anything you put in the default.

Sure. But do you know how to install an extension to the default user profile?

It sounds like the kind of thing that should work when you modify the default user profile.

Actually, if I install them under the Administrative account, it just installs it there until that account’s docs/settings folder. What I was wondering is if there is a way to actually install it so that it is installed for all users.

We’ve not tried installing any of these. Have you tried?
What I think will happen is that if you install these on the server, they’ll be available to everyone and would essentially be the “default” setting but, everyone would have the same thing. The only way you might get something different is if a user makes a change as a “personal preference”, maybe that change will “stick” in their personal profile. Have you tested this?
If you’re cool with everyone having these addons then I think it is just the simple matter of installing on the TS.

Well, on Windows I have a default set of extensions I would love to install for all users:
· Adblock Plus (maybe)
· View in IE (converts current tab to IE rendering engine, but stays in Firefox)
· PDF download (opens to open or save PDF links)
· Colorful tabs (maybe)
· Download Status Bar (moves download window to status bar, great for ICA connection launches)
Thanks.

Tell us more – like which extensions or what are you needing to accomplish? You made me curious as we have Firefox installed on our TS’s but I don’t recall issues with extensions or that we’ve even looked at this.

For those of you in a TS environment…is there a method for installing or setting up a default user profile for firefox extensions? Thanks!
