Chris,
You certainly could hire someone to oversee all areas, but even such a person is hard to find. If you did, you would still have to hire other to support his direction...just my two cents. While it would seem like you might get a two-for-one package, you really would be getting a half-and-half package, because people's capacity is limited.

Subject: [itdiscuss] Director of Technology
We are considering adding a Director of Technology position to our staff. One of the questions that has been raised is whether this individual could not only handle normal technology matters but also what I call "production technology" matters. Such things as overseeing the video camera teams, sound & light teams, really any technology that goes with "producing" (forgive my language) a funeral through the Sunday morning worship services.
Do any of you have this in your church? If so, do you have a job description? Who would this person report to in your organization?
If these are clearly two distinct jobs, would you please send me the respective job descriptions for your organization?
