Hello all,
I friend of mine called me today to tell me they were changing their
small business phone and internet service from AT&T to Comcast. They did
the internet service cutover a couple of weeks ago without a hitch.
However, today (the phone line port date from AT&T to Comcast) they
emailed me saying their phones went dead this morning at their office.
Comcast was there setting up the business phone equipment so they were
able to dial out shortly after their ATT lines died. I called their
office phone #s on my cell to see what I heard. I get the message that
the all too familiar ma-bell style message that "the number you are
dialing has been disconnected or is no longer in service".
It seems that instead of porting the numbers to Comcast ATT just killed
the lines. Has anyone had a Line Port Request experience like this? The
4 times I've dealt with LPRs I only had an issue once and it was with a
single phone number not all numbers for that company.
My recommendation to them at this point was to call have their Comcast
reps who submitted the LPR contact ATT and to get a copy of the LPR
Comcast submitted to make sure everything was handled properly on the
Comcast end of things.
Has anyone had this experience with ATT and\or Comcast with LPRs?
