On the client PC you can use the C:\Windows\Windows Update.log file to review errors. There may (usually is) a WindowsUpdate.log file too. Use the most current one and you can toss the other. 



Also, here is a link to some MS tools to help troubleshoot it, some times they have helped in the past, but mostly googling the error in the .log file has gotten me the best results.
