[itdiscuss] File Sync Solution

How do you sync between your laptop and the network?  Is through this
company's sight or direct?  If direct, how do you have the server side
setup?

SyncbackSE is a great little program for this.  It's very versatile and
even the freeware version includes most options.

I'm trying to come up with a file sync solution over a https connection
to a file server on our network.  

 

I have several laptops that have not been joined to the domain.  These
machines need to work on documents offline.  When they are connected to
the Internet, I would like them to "auto-sync" documents to a file share
on our network.  I'd like to do this securely and I want to leave keep
these computers off of the domain for security and ease of use reasons.
Any thoughts or experiences?
