Thanks. I think their filtering service is great, and a great value since
the mail is scrubbed before it hits your network circuit. I'm sure the
archiving solution also runs smoothly.

Cloud . our MX records send email through Postini 1st for spam/virus
filtering and archival then on to our exchange box.
Here's a blog post about our Postini purchase after Google bought them
http://jpowell.blogs.com/jason_powell_church_it/2008/04/postini-non-pro.html
at that time there was a $1500 minimum for non-profits . unsure if that's
changed since then.

Are you using Postini locally or in the cloud? I thought their Google
Message Filtering service (inbound spam & virus filtering) was a no-brainer
at just $3/user/year and set that up for my church and my employer. Very
effective and easy for staff to manage. I'm not sure they still offer that
minimal package, though.

We use and LOVE Postini - part of our licensesing grants us a year of online
searchable email archival (incoming and outgoing). We could purchase
additional years but haven't felt the need to do so yet.
We also of course have email backups which we hang on to for years.
We not had any legal counsel suggest to us yet for or against long term
archival.

What are churches doing regarding e-mail archival?
What were the decision points for or against?
What literature informed your decision?
