As long as you have Enterprise server and have room to add another store
this is a great solution.

The proper way (and possibly not the only way) is to create a separate
Mailstore in Exchange 2003, and configure it to archive all mailboxes in
that Mailstore. Start by creating a mailbox that you will use for
'archiving'. Then create a new Mailstore just for this purpose. Move
the mailbox that you want to be monitored to that Mailstore. Then in
the Mailstore properties, under the General tab, there is an option to
'Archive all messages sent or received...'. Check that option, and
point to your newly create mailbox for this purpose.

Any e-mails sent or received will be 'archived' undetected. If at some
point you no longer need t monitor the mailbox, just move it back to its
original store. You can keep the 'monitoring' store in place for future
needs as well.

Does anyone know of a way, in Exchange 2003, to mirror a mailbox to a
"phantom" mailbox? We want to monitor the emails of one of our users
without them being aware of what we are doing.
