On the flip side, we encourage IM and I’ve heard nothing but praises since we implemented it. For now we’re using Live Messenger but I am looking at an internal solution. I believe it helps us communicate more efficiently.

I shut down all IM. Most folks had no complaints because they were bugged by the barrage of IM traffic. Now everyone use email or the phone. Now if I could only get rid of texting.

I have a key user that wants to implement IM. However, I don’t want to bring in a “free” service because of what I think is the security risk. Am I justified in my security concern? I was thinking the best way is to implement something internal to my LAN. What do you all think?
