[itdiscuss] Exchange Store Recovery

Experienced a small hiccup with our db recently, Bill.  We're running
E2K3 - one of the log files went missing as a result of the machine
locking up and me having no choice but to perform a hard-boot.  The db
was considered to be in a "Dirty Shutdown" state and until I fixed that,
we were down.  Because it was the last log file in the bunch -
thankfully - minimal to no data was lost.

 

Microsoft's "Microsoft Exchange Troubleshooting Assistant" proved
invaluable and we were back in business in the amount of time that it
took to walk through the steps needed to examine and repair the db -
~2.5 hrs.
