[itdiscuss] Windows 7 Volume License Activation

Now I'm a little confused, I entered the key from my VLS account page.. I
have a KMS key and a MAK key. I used the first one which was KMS and it
finally worked. I thought KMS required that I have a KMS server running.
Did I do something that is going to mess me up when I upgrade everybody else
later?

You'll need to use the MAK key to activate it against Microsoft's servers.

Subject: [itdiscuss] Windows 7 Volume License Activation

I've got myself a small problem. I bought a single windows 7 license to
evaluate for a few months before upgrading everybody else around here. It
is now telling me I have 2 days left to activate and if I understand right..
I have to have at least 5 clients trying to activate on a local KMS server
before I can activate.. I don't even have a KMS server setup (I have 2
windows 2008 servers running) nor do I really know the steps to do so yet..
anybody have a simple solution or want to walk me through it?
