[itdiscuss] antivirus

We've done pretty well with VIPRE. Just make sure you go through the
defaults and change them to meet your needs. One surprise for us is
that the default action for finding a virus is to only report it to you,
not clean it or quarantine it.

Roger,

Are you still happy with VIPRE? Are the any others using VIPRE
currently? We have McAfee and are potentially looking at switch this
month.

If you contact Matt Biden at TLIC (www.everythingmaintenance.com) he can
probably get you set up for close to that price range. I just switched
from McAfee to VIPRE a month ago on my 185-node work network. And my
church received comparable pricing direct from Sunbelt last fall. If
you ask real nicely you may even get licenses for your users to install
on their home machines. Contact Bryan Berger
[BryanB at sunbelt-software.com] for more info.

In any case, you can download the 30-day trial for VIPRE Enterprise from
Sunbelt Software's site and give it a try.

Thank you. About 30 clients right now. We have a lot of Macs on our
network that are protected already so these are just Windows machines.
That's not a bad price.

How many clients? You can get Sunbelt Software's VIPRE system for
about $8.50/user right now. It provides excellent protection, is light
on resource requirements, and very easy to manage & deploy.

Hey all,

Any suggestions for good free AV software? We are thinking about doing
away with our active directory server and our domain, and we currently
have AVG with a client/server installation.
