[itdiscuss] Sunbelt Exchange Archiver

Tony,
Actually, the Barracuda looks to be less substantial than Sunbelt in several ways:

* For my 135 users, cost would be double, not only at purchase but also maintenance (need 350 model).

* Sunbelt does not just archive the attachments, but compresses the actual body of the email, too.

* Sunbelt integrates with Outlook search.

* Sunbelt allows (through the add-in) a synched offline copy of the archive for laptops and those who work offline.

I think the positives for Barracuda:

*         No SQL requirement.

* No windows to update/reboot (etc.)

* Could be deployed in HA scenario.

* Other policy-based features (like scanning for certain things and archiving based on that).

Not bad, but I think too pricey for our shop.

Dan

Dan, this doesn't answer your question (no, I don't use Sunbelt), but if you're looking at message archiving, you should consider the Barracuda Message Archiver. As with all Barracuda products, it works, it's an easy install, and you get a lot for the money. Not the fanciest product in the world....just plain, simple, and it works. You could have it up and running within a few minutes of the time it arrives.
