[itdiscuss] Component to S-Video

Unfortunately, our video mixer doesn't have preview outs for each input. We
can preview one input at a time across s-video, however, we like to have all
our sources up at once on separate preview screens. Our current preview
screens have s-video in and out so we run through them before we hit the
board. We will be splitting our component feeds before preview now but
don't want to invest in new preview monitors yet.

Silly question... Have you tried hooking up the component where you need to
and the plugging your preview into the S-Video jack at the same time? (I
have a VCR at home that lets me do this)

The LENKENG LKV7611
<http://www4.ipmart.com/main/product/LENKENG,LKV7611,Component,to,Composite,
,S,Video,Converter,,130401.php?prod=130401> looks like the best solution so
far. We actually only need three of them. Right now we have 3 HD cameras
and then the computer feed.. all are running s-video to our old crt preview
monitors. I'd like to go even cheaper than $64 per camera right now (yes I
know I'm greedy) but we're planning on buying a 4 display or 2x2 display HD
marshal racks mid next year. Any other suggestions on converters?

Also, anybody know of a 4x1 HD multiplexer that may be cheaper than the
marshal rackmount setup? I'm fine with all 4 preview on 1 LCD.

Anybody know a cheap and dirty way to convert Y Pb Pr (component 720p) to
s-video? I noticed we have HD camera's but are running s-video from them
right now. When I asked our media guys why they said its cause they don't
have it in the budget right now to buy component preview monitors. We have
the hd switch, projectors, and everything except our 4 preview monitors only
take s-video in. Surely there is some cheap way to convert just our preview
lines to s-video so we can go ahead and use 720p everywhere else.
