VirtualBox <http://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Downloads> (free VM) on Mac OS X
10.6.4 (Snow Leopard) is astounding. I have Win Server 2008 R2 Std running
in VirtualBox and it feels like a normal physical server. And I'm running
it in the little 13" Macbook Pro. It is really amazing how well it runs.
The way VirtualBox handles the cursor and hot-keys is better than Hyper-V in
my opinion. The performance and design of VirtualBox GUI is excellent. You
will also want to install the VirtualBox Guest Additions (hard drive and
SCSI drivers), it runs even faster and the quality of the video is
excellent. And you can move the binary hard drives (.vdi files) from one
physical Host OS to the next, it runs on Linux, Mac, and Windows. The
performance of VirtualBox on Mac is better than VMware (at least those are
my findings with my 13" Macbook Pro which I am very pleased with!).
