AT&T should provide reverse DNS on an enterprise-class circuit. I
suspect it's a matter of finding someone actually willing to get up off
their duff and take the 5 minutes required to do it.

Sadly, this is par for the course with AT&T.

Subject: [itdiscuss] DNS Help! - rDNS/PTR

So we recently moved 100% of our Internet services to AT&T "IP Flex"
service. We're having an issue with Reverse DNS when trying to send
emails to some domains that do the rDNS lookup on each message because
we don't have it in place.

I've tried SPF, TXT, SRV, etc. - no dice.

Domain registrar is currently Network Solutions.

AT&T won't create a PTR record for me pointing back to my mail server
unless they "host" the domain for me, which I don't want to do for
multiple reasons, including the downtime that such a move would incur.

What can I do? Is a SmartHost an option? I'm not familiar with them
but am desparate now and ATT is not being at all flexible.
