[itdiscuss] [ Suspected Spam ] discuss Digest, Vol 30, Issue 82

I think Nuvox has gone through some changes recently, and if I am not
mistaken they just got bought out by another company, but I don't recall
which. The advantage I see for us with Nuvox is two-fold. Cisco switches
which will allow for compression of the phone signals, which will use
less bandwidth. Secondly they will give the ability to use dynamic
bandwidth allocation which will allow us to use all of our bandwidth for
data when the phone traffic is low, but will still have that bandwidth
reserved for the phone traffic if needed. I think that will be huge for
us.

We are on Nuvox now and have not had a problem with them in like 6 years
on the data side; however, phone side of things is not always that way,
but that may be our old systems as much as anything.

Our experience with nuvox (several years ago) wasn't stellar, we
switched to paetec, and then this past summer moved over to TW telecom.
TW won hands-down on technology.

We use a company called Paetec, but they have no local support staff. We
are switching to a company called Nuvox that I have been impressed with.
Until we make the cutover I can't give you any facts about their
service, but I have heard very good things about them. I looked at
CBeyond and they were a close second IMO to Nuvox.

Good to hear they are still around and doing it right.

CBeyond is still active in the Atlanta area, and they give excellent
service.

You can contact Sloan Gavin - His cell # is: (678) 577-7680.

He is a Sales Manager and so has more flexibility in dealing with his
customers (pricewise), than does the average sales rep over there.

Dan

Speakeasy almost always is reselling someone else's fiber.
So they mark it up a little

For metro-ethernet generally there are 1 maybe 2 that actually service
your community - the rest lease the line.
So - get the rates - from all and then shop them hard.
