First I am assuming your subject should be HARSH, not hash... unless you
are storing your stash else in the fridge besides a NAS.

 

Would work well.. but has the same concerns as cooled racks... the
compressor drops out... you cook your gear.

 

The other thought, is it a fridge that uses the 'freezer' to cool the
fridge?  Those usually get quite a bit of ice build up on them... and
moisture level would be fairly high wouldn't it?

Subject: [itdiscuss] NAS -- Hash Environment

 

I'm considering adding a NAS to backup to a building that is quite a
distance from our main building.  We have a fiber connection to that
building.  However, the environment is a little harsh.  The building is
a maintenance shop.  

 

What do you think about putting the NAS in a small, dorm sized
refrigerator to keep it cool and clean?  I'm thinking that the frig
would be set to a lower setting than one you would use to keep food
cold.
